π¬ About the Project
The JRF positions are under the OMBRIC project titled:
βDiversity and Bioprospecting Analysis of Odishaβs Coastal and Marine Flora for Harnessing their Potential and Sustainable Conservation.β
The project focuses on:
- Marine and coastal biodiversity
- Bioprospecting of bioactive compounds
- Sustainable conservation approaches
- Chemical and functional characterization of natural products
π§ͺ Research Responsibilities
Selected JRFs may be involved in:
- Screening, identification, and chemical profiling of bioactive compounds
- Sample collection from marine/coastal ecosystems
- Compound isolation, structural elucidation, and functional characterization
- Gene discovery related to bioactive compounds
- Characterization of organic compounds using NMR, HRMS, IR, UV, HPLC
- Product optimization and development using chemical engineering approaches

π Eligibility Criteria
- M.Sc. / M.Tech (or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related disciplines
- Must have qualified a national-level examination such as:
CSIR-UGC / ICMR / DBT / ICAR - Fellowship certificate must be valid at the time of joining
π° Remuneration
- βΉ37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)
β³ Tenure
- Initially 1 year
- Extendable based on performance, project progress, and fund availability
