The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT-ISM) invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DST-SERB funded project.
📌 Project Title:
Synthesis of C-Aryl/Heteroaryl Glycosides via Photoredox-Catalyzed Homolysis of Glycosyl C-O Bonds: Application to the Synthesis of Neopetrosane Alkaloids A-D
📍 Position Details:
- Role: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

- Principal Investigator: Dr. Somnath Yadav
- Project Tenure: Till 14.01.2027 or co-terminus with the project
🎯 Job Description:
The selected JRF will work on methodology development in photoredox catalysis and applications of developed methodology towards target-oriented synthesis. The work includes:
- Developing methodologies for synthesis of biologically relevant glycosides
- Conducting photoredox catalysis experiments
- Characterization of molecules/materials
- Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
✅ Essential Qualification:
- M.Sc. (Chemistry) with 1st Class OR minimum 60% marks/CGPA 6.0 (if class not awarded)
- A valid GATE/NET (Assistant Professorship) qualification
⭐ Desirable Qualification:
- Experience in Organic Synthesis (projects/dissertation/etc.)
💰 Fellowship:
- ₹37,000/- per month (as per DST-SERB norms)
