Research Area
Biology (Plant Molecular Biology / RNA Biology)
The project focuses on understanding transcriptional and RNA-based regulatory mechanisms underlying forest tree adaptation across a forest cycle, with relevance to climate change.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Applicants with interest or background in:
- Plant molecular biology and genomics
- RNA biology and transcriptional regulation
- Forest tree adaptation to climate change
- Integration of wet-lab experiments with computational analyses
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (second-cycle) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 240 ECTS credits, including:
- At least 60 ECTS at second-cycle level
- 90 ECTS relevant to biological sciences
- 15 ECTS closely related to the proposed research area
- Completion of an independent research project of at least 15 ECTS relevant to the PhD topic
Desirable Qualifications
- Background in bioinformatics
- Experience in plant cell and molecular biology
- Familiarity with sequencing technologies and transcriptomics data analysis
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team
