Yashraj Biotechnology Ltd. (YBL) is looking for an experienced Principal Scientist β Integrated Drug Discovery (IDD) to join its growing R&D team. The role focuses on stem cell technologies, iPSC platforms, advanced cell-based research, disease modeling, and translational applications. YBL-IDD specializes in human-relevant, non-animal model-based solutions for biopharma and CRO applications.
π¬ What You’ll Work On
iPSC Reprogramming & Disease Modeling
Lead the reprogramming of somatic cells to establish healthy and disease-specific iPSC lines while ensuring reproducibility, quality, and compliance throughout the process.
iPSC Differentiation
Develop and optimize lineage-specific protocols for differentiating iPSC lines into target cell types, including:
- Cardiac cells
- Neural cells
- Skin cells
- Other specialized cell types
New Approach Methodologies (NAMs)
Develop and validate NAM models that are Fit for Purpose and aligned with their intended Context of Use (CoU) for translational drug discovery applications.
Advanced Cell Characterization
Lead end-to-end characterization of differentiated cells using techniques such as:
- Immunofluorescence
- Flow cytometry
- RNA-based assays
- Protein-based assays
- Lineage marker analysis
Complex In Vitro Models
Develop and validate Complex In Vitro Models (CIVMs), including:
- Organoids
- Organ-on-chip systems
- Advanced cell-based models
CRISPR-Based Gene Editing
Lead knock-in and knock-out studies using CRISPR technology to develop and characterize disease models and investigate biological mechanisms.
Translational Drug Discovery
Drive research programs that translate human-relevant cellular models and iPSC technologies into applications supporting drug discovery and development.

This position is suited for an experienced scientist with strong expertise in stem cell biology, iPSC technologies, cell differentiation, disease modeling, and translational research.
Candidates should have experience or strong knowledge in areas such as:
- iPSC generation and characterization
- Stem cell differentiation
- Disease modeling
- Cell-based assays
- CRISPR gene editing
- Organoid development
- Organ-on-chip technologies
- Molecular characterization
- Non-animal methodologies
- Translational research
- Drug discovery and development
Experience working with quality systems, regulatory requirements, GMP practices, and data integrity standards would be highly valuable.

π§ͺ Scientific & Leadership Responsibilities
The Principal Scientist will be responsible for:
- Establishing scientific vision for iPSC disease modeling and differentiation technologies.
- Driving strategic research programs and translational applications.
- Leading cross-functional teams working on iPSC manufacturing and differentiation.
- Guiding process development from early-stage research toward non-cGMP-ready manufacturing.
- Supporting scalability, compliance, and technology transfer.
- Prioritizing project portfolios and establishing scientific milestones.
- Managing project timelines, resources, and research priorities.
- Providing scientific troubleshooting and decision-making support.
- Acting as a scientific reference for junior and senior scientists.
- Representing scientific programs at regulatory meetings and conferences.
- Supporting strategic partner engagements and external collaborations.
- Driving innovation in assay development, process engineering, and automation.
- Addressing complex scientific and operational challenges across sites and collaborations.
π‘οΈ Quality & Regulatory Responsibilities
The role also carries significant responsibility for quality, compliance, and data integrity, including:
- Driving QMS processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
- Maintaining detailed documentation and traceability.
- Ensuring high standards of data integrity.
- Supporting quality control and safety requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Implementing ALCOA+++ principles.
- Maintaining GMP compliance practices.
- Supporting regulatory readiness of research and manufacturing processes.
