The research group of Dr. Ke Wang in the Department of Food Science at Cornell AgriTech, Cornell University, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join exciting collaborative research projects as a Postdoctoral Associate.

🔬 What You’ll Work On
Precision Fermentation
Conduct research focused on precision fermentation and its applications in developing innovative and sustainable biotechnology solutions.
The successful candidate will contribute to research projects exploring advanced approaches that can help shape the future of food biotechnology and biomanufacturing.
Bioengineering & Metabolic Engineering
Apply principles of bioengineering, metabolic engineering, chemical engineering, and molecular biology to address complex research questions and develop innovative biotechnological solutions.
Alternative Protein Research
Contribute to collaborative research projects focused on the development and advancement of alternative protein technologies.
The research may explore emerging strategies for sustainable food production and biotechnology-driven innovation.
Biomanufacturing
Participate in research related to advanced biomanufacturing approaches, contributing to the development of next-generation biological production systems.
Circular Bioeconomy
Work on emerging research topics supporting the development of a more sustainable and innovative circular bioeconomy.
Collaborative & Interdisciplinary Research

🎯 Your Role
The selected Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in bioengineering and precision fermentation.
- Contribute to research projects involving alternative proteins and biomanufacturing.
- Apply scientific expertise in molecular biology, chemical engineering, or related disciplines.
- Develop and execute research strategies and experimental approaches.

👨🔬 Ideal Candidates
Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- A strong academic record, including a GPA of no less than 3.7 out of 4.0 for graduate studies in a competitive U.S. programme or an equivalent programme.
- Native-level or strong English language proficiency.
- Demonstrated research experience in relevant scientific areas.
- A strong record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Experience presenting research findings at scientific conferences.
- The ability to conduct independent research.
- The ability to work effectively within a collaborative research environment.
- Active work authorization at the time of application.
- A valid U.S. driver’s licence at the time of application.
