LAXAI Life Sciences is conducting a Walk-In Interview Drive for its Synthesis R&D Department. The organization is looking for talented synthetic chemists with experience in planning and executing multi-step organic synthesis, optimizing reaction conditions, interpreting analytical data, and handling complex chemical reactions.
The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic research and development environment with exposure to organic synthesis, analytical characterization, reaction optimization, purification techniques, and scale-up chemistry.
🔬 What You’ll Work On
Multi-Step Organic Synthesis
Plan and execute multi-step organic synthesis reactions according to project requirements and established laboratory procedures.
Reaction Optimization
Optimize reaction conditions to improve reaction efficiency, yield, selectivity, and overall synthetic outcomes.
Analytical Data Interpretation
Interpret and analyze experimental data obtained from:
- NMR
- LC-MS
- HPLC
- IR Spectroscopy
Moisture- & Air-Sensitive Reactions
Handle and execute moisture-sensitive and air-sensitive chemical reactions while following appropriate laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
Scale-Up Reactions
Support the execution and optimization of scale-up reactions as required during the research and development process.
Compound Purification
Perform purification of synthesized compounds using techniques such as:
- Column Chromatography
- Preparative HPLC (Prep-HPLC)
- Crystallization
Project Documentation
Maintain clear and accurate records of experimental procedures, observations, analytical results, and project-related activities.
Project Management & Collaboration
Manage assigned project timelines and deliverables while collaborating effectively with team members, supervisors, and project managers.
Laboratory Safety & SOP Compliance
Follow established laboratory safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and appropriate PPE requirements during all laboratory activities.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving
Troubleshoot synthetic and purification challenges and contribute to the successful completion of research projects.
🎯 Ideal Candidates
Applicants should have:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in organic synthesis or synthetic chemistry.
- Experience in planning and executing multi-step organic synthesis.
- Knowledge of reaction optimization and condition development.
- Ability to interpret NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, and IR data.
- Experience handling moisture-sensitive and air-sensitive reactions.
- Familiarity with scale-up reactions.
- Hands-on experience with compound purification techniques.
- Experience in column chromatography, prep-HPLC, and crystallization.
- Strong laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to laboratory safety procedures and SOP compliance.
⭐ Additional Advantage
Experience in Medicinal Chemistry, Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutical R&D, or CRO-based research environments will be an added advantage.
