Academia Sinica is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Luo Lab at the Biodiversity Research Center. The project focuses on understanding genome and cell type evolution in corals using high-throughput sequencing, single-cell transcriptomics, and bioinformatics to investigate the evolutionary origins of photosynthetic symbioses.
🔬 Research Focus
Coral Genome & Cell Type Evolution
Investigate how novel cell types evolved and understand the genomic basis of photosymbiosis in corals.
High-Throughput Sequencing & Single-Cell Transcriptomics
Utilize cutting-edge sequencing technologies to study coral evolution and symbiotic marine organisms.
Marine Symbiosis Research
Work on corals, hydra, acoels, and other marine invertebrates to explore evolutionary biology and photosynthetic symbiosis.
Bioinformatics Pipeline Development
Develop computational workflows and analyze genomic and transcriptomic datasets for evolutionary research.
🎓 You’re a Good Fit If
You hold a PhD in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
You have experience in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.
You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You are interested in evolutionary biology, marine genomics, and collaborative interdisciplinary research.
