ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DBT-NE (Department of Biotechnology, Government of India) funded research project. The project focuses on deciphering the nutritional and nutraceutical potential of traditional Naga fermented soybean (Axone/Akhuni) for developing value-added food products. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in food biochemistry, biotechnology, and nutraceutical research.
🔬 What You’ll Work On
Nutraceutical & Functional Food Research
Conduct research on the nutritional and nutraceutical properties of traditional fermented soybean products (Axone/Akhuni) for value-added product development.
Food Biochemistry
Perform biochemical characterization, food analysis, and laboratory experiments related to functional food research.
Biochemical & Analytical Techniques
Apply biochemical, molecular, and functional analysis techniques to investigate food quality and nutritional properties.
Research Documentation
Maintain laboratory records, experimental data, research documentation, and project reports in accordance with institutional guidelines.
Collaborative Scientific Research
Work closely with researchers in the Division of Biochemistry on an interdisciplinary DBT-funded research project.
🎯 Ideal Candidates
You hold an M.Sc. or M.Tech. (including Integrated M.Tech. 4+2) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Food Science, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
NET/GATE qualification is not mandatory.
Candidates with experience in Food Biochemistry, Functional Analysis, Extrusion Technology, or Biochemical Techniques will be preferred.
Applicants should be 35 years of age or below (age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules).
