π Location: Lund, Sweden πΈπͺ
πΌ Position Available: Postdoctoral Researcher
π¬ Research Areas: Experimental Immunology | Women’s Health | Systems Immunology | Reproductive Immunology | Metabolic Disorders | Transcriptomics | Proteomics | Immunophenotyping
The Systems Immunology Lab at Lund University, Sweden, is inviting applications for a fully funded 2-year Postdoctoral Researcher position, with the possibility of extension, focused on experimental immunology and women’s health.
Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Camila Consiglio, the postdoctoral researcher will investigate how reproductive and metabolic factors shape the immune system in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (formerly known as PCOS).
The project combines advanced immunological profiling and multi-omics approaches to understand immune regulation in women’s health.
𧬠Research Focus
The project aims to understand the interactions between the immune system, reproductive processes, and metabolic factors in women’s health.
Key research areas include:
- Experimental immunology
- Women’s and reproductive health
- Systems immunology
- Immune regulation in metabolic ovarian syndrome
- Immune-reproductive crosstalk
- Molecular and cellular profiling
- Translational immunology
The research will explore how reproductive and metabolic conditions influence immune-system composition and function.
π¬ Key Research Approaches
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to projects involving:
- Transcriptomic profiling: Bulk RNA sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq)
- Proteomic profiling: Olink-based protein analysis
- Immunophenotypic profiling: Cytometry-based immune-cell characterization
- Systems immunology: Integrative analysis of immune-system characteristics
- Reproductive immunology: Investigation of immune-reproductive interactions
- Collaborative research: Projects involving immune-reproductive crosstalk during in vitro fertilization (IVF)
These approaches will provide opportunities to investigate immune-system changes at molecular, cellular, and systems levels.
π― Ideal Candidates
Applicants should have a strong interest in experimental immunology and women’s health, with relevant research experience in immunology or related biomedical fields.
Candidates with experience or interests in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Experimental immunology
- Reproductive or women’s health research
- Transcriptomics and RNA sequencing
- Proteomics
- Cytometry and immune-cell profiling
- Systems immunology
- Metabolic and reproductive disorders
- Multi-omics data analysis
Applicants should demonstrate scientific motivation, relevant expertise, and the ability to contribute to collaborative research projects.
π§ͺ Job Functions
The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to research activities including:
- Investigating immune responses associated with reproductive and metabolic factors.
- Conducting transcriptomic, proteomic, and immunophenotypic profiling.
- Studying immune-system characteristics in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome.
- Contributing to research on immune-reproductive interactions during IVF.
- Analyzing and interpreting experimental research data.
- Collaborating with researchers across related projects.
- Contributing to scientific reporting, presentations, and publications.
The position offers an opportunity to contribute to interdisciplinary research connecting immunology, reproductive biology, and women’s health.
π What You’ll Gain
- Research experience in experimental and systems immunology.
- Exposure to women’s health and reproductive immunology.
- Hands-on research involving bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing.
- Experience with Olink-based proteomic profiling.
- Exposure to cytometry-based immune-cell characterization.
- Opportunities to investigate immune-reproductive crosstalk.
- Experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary research.
- Opportunities to contribute to research publications and scientific presentations.
ποΈ Research Environment
The position is based in the Systems Immunology Lab at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund University, Sweden.
The laboratory is led by Assistant Professor Camila Consiglio and focuses on experimental immunology, with research examining how reproductive and metabolic factors shape immune-system function in women’s health.
The postdoctoral researcher will participate in collaborative projects, including investigations of immune-reproductive interactions and IVF-related research.
