Fully Funded PhD Position – University of Twente (Netherlands)
We are inviting applications for a fully funded 4-year PhD position in the Bioengineering Technologies Department at the University of Twente.
Research Focus:
The PhD project is part of the ENW-XL PanCreaTE project and focuses on the mass production of annealable pancreatic organoids using microfluidic micromaterials. The research aims to pioneer the annealing of organoid-forming microgels into large, microporous living materials with perfusable, capillary-like networks.
Eligibility & Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline
- Strong background in microtechnology, biomaterials, and cell–material interactions
- Experience in pancreas biology, tissue engineering, and/or biofabrication is an advantage
- High motivation for interdisciplinary and high-impact research
