🔬 About the PhD Project
The Tolić Lab is offering an exciting PhD opportunity to study a fundamental and unresolved question in cancer biology:
How do cancer cells decide between life and death during cell division?
Cancer cells often survive catastrophic errors during mitosis. This project aims to uncover the mechanisms of cellular resilience during division and how these processes shape cancer progression.
🧪 Research Environment & Approach
The PhD student will work at the intersection of:
- Cell biology
- Biophysics
- Cancer research
You will combine:
- Live-cell microscopy
- Genetics
- Molecular biology
with collaborations involving:
- Genomics
- Proteomics
- Bioinformatics
- Mathematical & computational modeling
The lab is part of a highly international research network, with collaborations across Croatia, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland.
