π¬ About the Lab
The Dombrovski Lab studies how neurons form precise synaptic connections during neural circuit development. The research combines Drosophila genetics, molecular biology, imaging, and single-cell approaches to understand mechanisms of neural circuit assembly.
This role is an exciting opportunity to help establish a new research lab from the ground up while contributing directly to cutting-edge neuroscience research.
π§ͺ Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Drosophila fly stocks and perform genetic crosses
- Support molecular biology experiments (PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation)
- Assist with imaging, dissections, and experimental workflows
- Organize laboratory reagents, supplies, and equipment
- Help set up and maintain lab infrastructure and operations
- Train and assist undergraduate researchers
- Maintain accurate records and laboratory protocols
π Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field
- Basic laboratory experience in molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Preferred: Experience working with Drosophila models.
π° Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $40,000 β $52,000 per year
- Relocation Support: $2,000 for eligible candidates
