The Centre de Recherche en Neurosciences de Lyon (CRNL), INSERM U1028, is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate how oxygen tension regulates neural stem cell fate during brain development and repair.
The project will be conducted in close collaboration with the University of Fribourg (UNIFR), Switzerland, and combines mouse and Drosophila models with advanced cellular, imaging, and transcriptomic approaches.
๐ฌ What You’ll Work On
Oxygen Tension & Neural Stem Cells
Investigate how oxygen availability regulates neural stem cell (NSC) behaviour during brain development and repair.
Brain Development & Repair
Study how changes in oxygen tension influence neural stem cell fate and brain development, with potential implications for mechanisms involved in brain repair.
Mouse & Drosophila Models
Use complementary mouse and Drosophila models to investigate how oxygen environments influence neural cell development and behaviour.
Single-Cell Transcriptomics
Apply single-cell transcriptomic approaches to determine how oxygen availability shapes neural cell populations and molecular responses.
Advanced Imaging & Cellular Analysis
Use advanced imaging and analytical approaches to characterize neural stem cells and their responses to different oxygen environments.
Molecular & Genetic Approaches
Combine molecular, genetic, and cellular approaches to understand the mechanisms through which oxygen regulates neural development.
๐ฏ Ideal Candidates
Applicants should have:
- A PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong motivation and enthusiasm for research in developmental neuroscience.
- Experience with neural stem cells or cell biology.
- Experience with advanced imaging and analytical approaches.
- Interest or experience in studying neural development and repair.
- Strong experimental and scientific skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Experience with cell biology, vascularization, electrophysiology, Python and/or R will be considered an advantage.
