Monash University Malaysia is seeking an outstanding PhD candidate to join a research project investigating the translational evaluation of functional foods regulating insulin secretion and skeletal muscle glucose uptake for metabolic health applications.
The project focuses on diabetes mellitus, glucose regulation, and functional foods with the aim of understanding their potential applications in improving metabolic health.
🔬 What You’ll Work On
Functional Food & Metabolic Health
Investigate functional foods and their potential role in supporting glucose regulation and metabolic health.
Insulin Secretion
Study the effects of functional food components on insulin secretion and mechanisms relevant to metabolic health.
Skeletal Muscle Glucose Uptake
Investigate how functional foods may influence glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and contribute to improved glucose regulation.
Translational Research
Conduct research aimed at evaluating functional food interventions for potential metabolic health applications.
Diabetes Research
Contribute to research addressing mechanisms and approaches relevant to diabetes mellitus and glucose metabolism.
🎯 Ideal Candidates
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Malaysian citizenship.
- Completed Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours.
- Degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
- Meet the PhD entry requirements of the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Demonstrated excellence, motivation, and self-drive in research pursuits.
