The Research Lab for Aquatic Ecosystems and Health at Danube University Krems is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join a fully funded research project investigating trophic interactions in aquatic food webs.
The project will trace how fatty acids move through freshwater pond ecosystems, following their transfer from algae to zooplankton and fish, while examining how environmental and dietary factors influence these processes.
The successful candidate will gain access to advanced compound-specific stable isotope analytical methods and conduct both field research in northern Austria and controlled laboratory feeding experiments.
