The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) is inviting applications for Project Associate positions under an industry-sponsored research project (RP0107). The appointment will be contractual and renewable annually, depending on project duration.
🔬 Research Areas
Selected candidates will work on cutting-edge computational biology and AI-driven genomics projects:
1️⃣ Autoimmune Disease Network Biology
Constructing protein interaction and regulatory networks using genomic and transcriptomic data.
2️⃣ Foundation Models for Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Applying AI foundation models to study genomics of neurodevelopmental diseases.
3️⃣ Explainable AI for Antimicrobial Resistance
Developing deep learning models to predict and interpret antimicrobial resistance patterns.
🎓 Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- 4-year Bachelor’s or 2-year Master’s degree in:
- Biotechnology
- Bioinformatics
- Life Sciences
- or related fields
- Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized university.
💻 Preferred Skills
Depending on the research theme:
- Programming in R or Python
- Experience with bioinformatics tools
- Knowledge of deep learning / machine learning
- Experience building AI or deep learning models
- For AI-focused roles, applicants may need to share a GitHub repository demonstrating ML/DL experience.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
- ₹30,000/month consolidated salary
- Hostel accommodation available subject to availability at IBAB.
