The BRIC–Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) is inviting applications for its Ph.D. Admissions 2026 (Junior Research Fellow) program. The institute focuses on the conservation and sustainable utilization of bioresources to support socio-economic development, particularly in the biodiversity-rich North Eastern Region of India.
🔬 Research Areas
Plant Bioresources
Conduct research on biodiversity conservation, sustainable utilization of plant resources, and related biological sciences.
Microbial Resources
Explore microbial diversity, biotechnology applications, and microbial resource management.
Natural Product Chemistry
Work on the discovery, characterization, and application of bioactive natural compounds.
Animal Bioresources
Research animal biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable utilization of biological resources.
Bioinformatics & Database Management
Apply computational tools for biological data analysis, database development, and life science research.
🎓 You’re a Good Fit If
You hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Environmental Studies, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
OR
You possess a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Science/Technology or equivalent (including MBBS, M.V.Sc., etc.).
Preference will be given to candidates with a valid national fellowship such as CSIR-UGC NET, DBT-JRF, GATE, INSPIRE, or an equivalent fellowship.

📝 Selection Process
Selection will be based on an interview of candidates qualified through JRF or INSPIRE fellowships.
