The Centre d’Immunologie et des Maladies Infectieuses (CIMI-Paris) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for a 3-year fixed-term position to investigate new therapeutic strategies targeting the NF-κB pathway in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. The project is funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa).
🔬 Research Project
The project aims to identify and characterize new therapeutic targets regulating NF-κB activation in hematological malignancies, with a particular focus on multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma.
The research will investigate:
- Molecular mechanisms controlling NF-κB activation
- Newly identified NF-κB regulators
- Ubiquitin-proteasome system and its regulatory mechanisms
- Supramolecular complexes involved in NF-κB signaling
- Pharmacological compounds targeting relevant pathways
- Bortezomib-sensitive and bortezomib-resistant cancer models
- Patient samples from individuals with multiple myeloma
The project combines molecular biology, cancer research, immunology, inflammation, cellular pharmacology, and proteomics to identify potential therapeutic strategies.
🧪 Key Research Areas
NF-κB Signaling
Study the molecular mechanisms regulating NF-κB activation in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines and identify potential therapeutic regulators.
Proteasome & Ubiquitination
Investigate the ubiquitin-proteasome system, proteasome-associated regulators, and their role in cancer-associated signaling.
Multiple Myeloma & Mantle Cell Lymphoma
Evaluate therapeutic targets and pharmacological compounds in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma models, including drug-resistant systems.
Cancer & Immunology
Explore mechanisms connecting inflammation, immune signaling, infection, and cancer biology to identify clinically relevant therapeutic opportunities.
Translational Research
Assess the relevance of experimental findings using patient samples from multiple myeloma, alongside collaborations with clinical and research partners.
🧫 Desired Technical Skills
Experience with several of the following techniques will be valued:
- Cell culture
- Western blotting
- Immunofluorescence
- CRISPR/Cas9
- Proteomics
- Flow cytometry
- Cellular pharmacology
- Molecular and cellular biology
- Protein-protein interaction studies
Experience in cancer biology, immunology, inflammation, infection, NF-κB signaling, proteasome/ubiquitination, or hematology would be particularly relevant.
🎓 Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a PhD in one of the following areas:
- Cell Biology
- Molecular Biology
- Biochemistry
- Cancer Biology
- Immunology
- Pharmacology
- Related biological or biomedical disciplines
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong scientific curiosity
- Rigorous and independent research ability
- Ability to develop and execute scientific hypotheses
- Strong interest in cancer, immunology, inflammation, or molecular signaling
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research environment
