BRICβNational Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under the MK-BHAN Fellowship Project focused on identifying and exploiting novel physiological attributes and genetic regulation of photosynthetically efficient wild rice to improve crop performance under abiotic stress. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in plant science, molecular biology, and agricultural biotechnology research.
π¬ What You’ll Work On
Plant Genome Research
Conduct research on genetic regulation and physiological mechanisms in wild rice for improved crop performance.
Plant Molecular Biology
Study molecular pathways involved in photosynthetic efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance.
Plant Biotechnology
Apply modern plant biotechnology approaches to understand and improve crop traits.
Crop Improvement Research
Contribute to developing strategies for enhancing stress tolerance and agricultural productivity.
Collaborative Research
Work under the guidance of experienced researchers in a nationally funded research project.
π― Ideal Candidates
You hold an M.Sc. or M.Tech degree with at least 60% marks in Life Sciences, Plant Sciences, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or an equivalent discipline.
You fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed under DSTOM Notification No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022.
Candidates with an M.Sc. dissertation in Plant Sciences, Plant Molecular Biology, or Plant Biotechnology will be preferred.
Prior experience in plant physiology, plant molecular biology, plant biotechnology, or computational biology will be an added advantage.
Candidates with a first-author publication or university rank will receive preference.
